If you are landing here as a redirect from my earlier ParentinginPurple website you may already be aware of some of the reasons that I chose that name to work under; we each need to find a balance between what are often considered male and female characteristics, the blue and the pink, and never moreso than when we are parenting. Besides, I like the colour purple!
As I have branched out from that earliest parenting work and added counselling and support services to my repertoire I have come to see the purple connection in a much broader application than merely the way we choose to parent our children. I do a lot of recovery and grief work, both individually and with groups. Purple has long been associated with grief -in some countries it is THE colour of mourning – Brazil, here I come!
People are Purple. Indeed, we are. Multi-faceted, beautiful Purple People.
